Kendall Maslak knows how important epilepsy services, research and awareness are. She and her parents, Ed and Fadua, will be on their way to Washington, DC on Friday, April 15 to participate in the Epilepsy Foundation of America’s Teens Speak Up! program. This program gathers teen delegates living with epilepsy from all over the United States to meet with their perspective state legislators on Capitol Hill to share their personal stories and to advocate for epilepsy funding and research.
As last year’s Epilepsy Foundation – Iowa delegate, I will also be attending the conference as an ambassador. As an ambassador, I can share my experience as a delegate and how I fulfilled my Year of Service as part of the Teens Speak Up program. This website is actually my project and I’m really excited to share it with all the delegates and other teens and families who will be attending the National Walk for Epilepsy this Saturday, April 16. It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to be part of it again this year!
Keep watching the Teen Connection website as well as Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #TSU2016 for updates throughout the conference!
