I’m back, and I have some great stuff to show all of you! Recently I was chosen to return to Washington DC for the Teens Speak Up! Conference as a teen ambassador. When I was in Washington I met great people, and even met up with some old friends.
Before the Conference started, my mom and I took part in the 10th Anniversary of the National Epilepsy Walk which was amazing! Thousands of people participate, we had speakers like Rick Harrison and performers like Sleepy Man. I got to meet the Athletes Vs. Epilepsy team and some of the people who create the Medikidz comics!
The Teens Speak Up! Conference is one where teens with epilepsy from all over the nation are brought to the nation’s capitol to speak with their state representatives, and state senators, to lobby for multiple different purposes in their state’s epilepsy community. Besides speaking to your legislature, you also learn coping mechanisms, and meet tons of teens who have epilepsy just like you! This conference really shows you that you are never truly alone.
